The intent of this policy is to maintain the university as a productive, safe, and clean environment in which to study, conduct research, work and visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presence of pets in campus classrooms, work areas, and research areas can be disruptive as well as unsanitary; they may compromise the safety and health of students, faculty, staff and visitors and may expose the university to legal liability (for example, if a dog bites someone). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This policy applies to all faculty, staff, and students, at all times and in all internal university locations (including, but not limited to offices, laboratories, housing and classrooms). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faculty, staff and students are prohibited from bringing pets into any USC building, including, but not limited to, classrooms, work areas, housing and research areas. Dogs walked on campus must be kept on a leash and must be picked up after, in accordance with Los Angeles sanitation requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This policy does not apply to animals used as a disability-aid or animals associated with research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
