Our closing event, Tales of Clamor by the L.A.\u2013based PULLproject Ensemble, explored the Japanese American incarceration during World War II. The performance was created in collaboration with artists and community members and combined theatre, circus arts, and archival footage. The audience comprised USC students, staff, faculty, and members of the general public from a wide range of backgrounds and fields, and we sat in that theatre together, collectively laughing, crying, and reflecting on historical events, their long-term impacts on people and society, and their connections to ongoing discrimination today.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">This is the power of the arts and why Visions and Voices exists\u2014to bring communities together, to share stories, to make us think, and to make us feel. Experiences in the arts can be inspiring, transformative, and joyous, and at Visions and Voices, we are committed to providing these experiences and making them accessible. This year, we presented over 100 events attended by more than 30,000 people. And with our Arts in Action program, we supported 15 projects proposed by students and faculty who collaborated with community organizations to use the arts for social change.
