M&S shoppers snap up 'flattering' sparkly skirt that's 'perfect for party season'

The Velvet Sequin Mini Skater Skirt from Marks & Spencer has been hailed as a "flattering" and "feminine" piece - and it's perfect for Christmas parties

Marks & Spencer has delighted shoppers with its array of sparkly clothing ahead of the festive season. For those still hunting for the perfect sparkly piece for Christmas parties, the high street retailer's Velvet Sequin Mini Skater Skirt, €50,has been hailed as both "flattering" and "feminine".

It comes in a stunning green colour, as well as an on-trend chocolate brown - which M&S warns is "selling quickly".

Available in sizes 6-22, the skirt features a playful, mini-length hem and a comfy regular fit. Plus, the added stretch in the fabric ensures a flexible feel. This standout piece is finished with shimmery sequins and a neat zip fastening at the back.

The Only Way Is Essex star Jess Wright has been spotted wearing the sparkly skirt, which she paired with a matching brown shirt, sheer tights and suede court heels for a sophisticated look with a festive twist.

Meanwhile, the black Troja Sequin Mini Skirt, €27, has been popular with Very shoppers.

And for those who prefer a longer length, this ASOS DESIGN sequin midi skirt in cherry red, €51.99, is a fun but sophisticated alternative.

M&S customers have been delighted with their purchase, rating the Velvet Sequin Mini Skater Skirt four stars out of five. "Exactly what I needed," said one reviewer. "For you ladies with a bit of a mum tum like myself this skirt just gives you a bit of shape as it isn’t tight to you body and you can pull it higher over your tummy.

"The ‘flippy’ bottom just adds that little bit of femininity. I’ve paired it with a bodysuit, shirt and chunky knit, with tights, boots and shoes. Really considering purchasing the green one too."

Another added: "Good little skirt. It is short (I’m only 162 cm) and the fit is snug. Size 10 fits very well on the waist so I think it really is a size 8 but comfortable. Flares slightly so flows nicely when twirling . 4/5 stars for sizing but great little skirt for the party season."

Others echoed the same sentiment, and offered advice to anyone else considering the purchase. "Great little skirt. It really is a mini - I’m 5’4” and it’s really short on me. Also go up a size. I'm always an M&S 8 and had to return it for a 10."

"Very short. Im 5'1" and its short even for me. However, Only here once so going to wear it," one person penned.
