Galway v Dublin recap as Ger Brennan's side drawn against Kerry in semi-finals

Galway 1-21 Dublin 1-25

Dublin are through to the All-Ireland semi-finals after a hard-fought win over Galway.

The sides went into the break with the Dublin ahead after Con O’Callaghan fisted over seconds before the half-time whistle.

Cormac Costello and O’Callaghan were key going forward while Colm Basquel and Nial Scully also had huge games.

Galway captain John Maher fisted in a Galway goal but with just over ten minutes to go O’Callaghan converted a penalty after Basquel was taken down by Liam Silke who was shown a black card and Dublin saw out the game with a man advantage with Scully scoring a huge two-pointer with five minutes to go.

There you have it, the 2026 semi-finals is Louth v Mayo and Dublin v Kerry.

One of Louth or Mayo will be in this year's final, as The Wee County played in their first semi since 1957. Mayo's first in five years. While on the other side, it's a battle we know all too well, two of the sports juggernauts Dublin vs Kerry.

History

Louth may have taken the story of the weekend as they booked a first All-Ireland semi-final since 1957 with a 0-27 to 2-18 win over Monaghan despite having Sean Callaghan sent off after just six minutes.

Big calls cost Galway

The two penalty calls cost Galway. One for and one against.

Johnny Maher looked like he was pulled down but David Gough gave no penalty. Earlier he had awarded one for a foul outside the area on Paddy Small but deemed it a black card offence so gave the spot kick.
