‘I was with Princess Andre the day Katie Price doc aired and her reaction floored me’

EXCLUSIVE: Showbiz Editor, Rishma Donsani, partied with Princess Andre hours after scenes were shown of her breaking down over mum Katie Price’s drug use

It can't be easy having to make a public appearance on the same day your mum bares her soul on TV so I wasn't sure what version of Princess Andre was going to be waiting when I crossed London to meet her on a sweltering night.

Just hours after scenes of her breaking down while reflecting on her mum’s lowest points came to light, many gathered at a party in King's Cross weren't sure she would even turn up - and honestly, who could blame her?

However, the teenager left me stunned as she strutted into Supermax on Wednesday with more confidence than everyone else in the room, ready to party the night away. She was really approachable and happy to take pictures with anyone that asked - her parents clearly taught her well.

Princess looked amazing when she walked in, and commanded attention straight away. Despite what must be such a tough time, she seemed really bubbly and happy to be there, and was chatting away to friends at the bar.

Princess is no stranger to life in the spotlight - her first moments were splashed across front pages, and millions of viewers tuned in to the reality show that showcased the days after her birth.

Thanks to parents Katie Price and Peter Andre, she’s learned how to leverage that fame into her very own reality show, aptly named the Princess Diaries, and is just minutes away from gaining her first million followers on Instagram.

But this week, we saw another side to the 19-year-old, as she sat beside her older brother, Junior, and they sobbed over their relationship with their mother for her new documentary, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, shedding light on her battle with cocaine, and their terror at possibly losing her.

Where others would hide away, bed rot and doomscroll for hours on end at the thought of their hardest moments being shown on TV, Princess did the exact opposite, proving herself to be a chip off the old block - and so much more. She got dressed up for a night out, and let loose to celebrate beauty brand Carmex’s latest launch, alongside TV veterans, Love Island stars, influencers and even a few lucky journalists.

This is a daunting prospect for anyone - whether you’re a seasoned reality TV star like Vicky Pattison, or a Love Island winner like Samie Elishi, who were both on the guest list - and even more so when your life is currently being splashed across social media.

But, with the world watching, and the eyes of the UK press on her, Princess was the surprise of the night. She effortlessly brushed off the drama, remained bubbly and carefree as she hobnobbed around the event, and seemed totally at ease in what could be an intimidating environment.

While she, somewhat understandably, wasn’t ready to undertake interviews when approached, she was more than happy to chat for a few moments, and confidently posed for pictures with those partygoers who lined up for selfies.

Her appearance at Supermax was a stark difference to her scenes in Katie’s documentary which surfaced just hours before. In devastating footage that aired in the four-part series, the youngster discussed how her mum struggled to take care of her, detailing the moment she cried into a blanket that smelled like the I’m A Celeb star, because she felt so alone.

The hard-hitting series was released on Wednesday morning on Sky, with Katie also touching on her drug use in a tough interview on This Morning, generating yet more headlines about what must have been the most painful time in their lives.

This isn't an easy industry at the best of times. As someone who has met countless reality TV stars over the years, including Katie herself - I was lucky enough to get a front-row seat to the moment she trotted out a painted pink horse, dressed as a unicorn, to promote her Pony Club series in 2016 - and you can always tell when someone isn't quite cut out for it.

At 19, despite having the weight of the world and more on her shoulders, Princess proved she’s already a much-needed breath of fresh air.
