Junior and Princess Andre weren't 'blocked' from I'm A Celeb spin-off, rep says
Reports that Junior and Princess Andre were hoping to star in IAC: The Wild Frontier but were 'blocked' from joining the show as a pair are not accurate, their representative said
Junior and Princess Andre have not been told they won't be able to join the new I'm A Celeb spin-off, as their team didn't speak to ITV bosses about this opportunity, their representative has said.
This weekend, reports emerged claiming that the 21-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter of Katie Price, 48, and Peter Andre, 53, were hoping to take part in the I'm A Celebrity spin-off, The Wild Frontier. The upcoming spin-off of the hit reality series, created to mark the franchise's 25th anniversary, will see celebrities enter the competition in teams of two, moving contestants away from the Australian jungle into the rugged wilderness of Canada.
A source claimed that Junior and Princess have always wanted to join I'm A Celeb, as they believe it would be "a sweet full-circle moment" for them, since their parents met on the show. However, the insider alleged that their hopes were dashed after their team reached out to ITV bosses, who said the siblings wouldn't be considered for The Wild Frontier as they have recently filmed Celebrity Race Across the World for the BBC.
The source claimed that the I'm A Celeb casting team felt that the two series are too similar, as they both involve competing in pairs. Speaking to The Sun, the source added: "The other issue is that Race Across The World hasn't even aired yet and they could potentially air very close together. The last thing ITV bosses want is to look like they are following other series."
The rejection was described as "a big blow" for Junior and Andre, who the source said were "gutted" to find out they won't be considered for the ITV show. "The spin-off would have been the perfect show for them, as it’s going back to the roots of how their parents met, but also not a retread of the jungle, so a bit different," the source added.
"They are hoping there might be another opportunity in the future, but for now it's a definite no." However, after the reports emerged, the siblings' press representative told The Mirror that the claims are not accurate, as there has been no conversation about Princess and Junior and the new IAC.
The two siblings previously spoke about wanting to join I'm A Celeb, with Junior describing the show as "so amazing" and saying that joining it "would actually be a very big achievement." Katie and Peter first met in 2004 as contestants on the third series of the reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, sparking a high-profile romance.
They married in 2005, became reality TV icons and welcomed their two kids before divorcing acrimoniously in 2009.
Filming for IAC: The Wild Frontier is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with the show expected to air in 2027 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series. Campers will rough it in the Callaghan Valley near Whistler Olympic Park, an area known for its wildlife, including grizzly bears, black bears, and mountain lions.
