JC Cruz, MSW ‘16, who was recently elected to the executive board of the California Democratic Party to represent Assembly District 51, believes that studying social work provided him with “the context for a better understanding of community issues as well as the layers of inequality that affect different populations.”

Proud Trojan moment: this year, five master and doctoral level USC social work students have received a Minority Fellowship Program award through the Council on Social Work Education! Through this program, the fellows will have a valuable opportunity to fulfill the behavioral health needs of ethnic minority populations.
