The Bay Area’s nearly two dozen transit agencies now accept contactless credit and debit cards for adult fare payment in addition to existing plastic Clipper cards and mobile Clipper cards in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
The 'tap-and-ride' feature that allows riders to use a contactless bank card for fare payment includes mobile cards as well as traditional plastic credit or debit cards.
'Tap-and-ride' is expected to be a big time-saver for Bay Area visitors as well as residents who can now use their contactless bank cards to board buses, trains and ferries with no registration or setup process required. Each person needs their own card or mobile device for payment.
Driving, Parking, & Biking Impacts
Road Closures
Road closures will occur in two phases. During Phase 1, a closure of Tasman Drive and the Stars and Stripes Slip Ramp will be required on Match days. Two detours will be posted to support this closure. A Local Detour will be in place at the east and west ends of the closure and will utilize Great America Way, Great America Parkway, Lafayette Street, and Calle De Luna/Calle Del Sol to bypass the closure to the north. A Regional Detour will be posted in advance of the closures and will alert drivers to take alternative routes to avoid potential delays associated with the closure. The routes include the 101, 237, and local arterial roadways. Detour signage will be posted along the local detour route.

During Phase 2, Match Day Phase 1 will be adjusted to reflect the closure of Calle Del Sol to general traffic and the suggested use of Lick Mill Boulevard. Local resident and business access will be maintained. Posted detours will be provided along multiple routes to provide local residents and businesses with alternatives that are most convenient for them during the closure period. The Regional Detour will remain the same, providing alternative routes to drivers who do not have a local area destination.

For additional information, please view the document created by the Bay Area Host Committee.
Bike and Pedestrian Detours
The San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail will be closed on the 6 match days during the FIFA World Cup. During this period, bike traffic will be detoured around the closure. A detour will be posted to use Mission College Blvd and Great America Parkway to bypass the Creek Trail closure. Notifications will be posted at the trail connections at Agnew Road and Great America Parkway directing cyclists and pedestrians to the detour route.

For additional information, including dates & times of the detours, please view the document created by the Bay Area Host Committee.

Parking is limited, carpooling and transit are recommended. All FIFA World Cup parking passes are only available for match ticket holders and must be purchased in advance. No on-site payments are available. For additional information, visit the Bay Area Host Committee website.
