Add the event to your calendar!
🎪 IndieWebCamp is a two-day collaborative workshop with interactive discussions, brainstorming, creating, hacking, and teaching & helping each other make more and better use of our personal websites for a more fulfilling experience on the web.

1️⃣ Day one, 27 June we’ll do introductions and facilitate discussions in a BarCamp like environment. Bring a topic you'd like to discuss or join on topics as they are added to the schedule grid.
2️⃣ Day two, 28 June is our Create Day when we make, design, build, and code what we discussed. Work in groups with others or on your own. We do demos at the end of the day for everyone to show off what they worked on and made!
See Attending an IndieWebCamp for more details if this is your first time!

Accessibility
Whatever your disability, we want to make sure IndieWebCamps are accessible to all. If you consider attending IndieWebCamp Nuremberg and have specific accessibility requirements, contact us in advance and we'll try to make sure that we are able to accommodate you.
Health and Safety
The venue has plenty of space to sit distanced.
If you are feeling sick or experiencing any respiratory (Covid, RSV, flu, cold) symptoms, we require that you please participate remotely instead of in-person. 😷 Masking 😷 recommended (but not required) both in-person inside the venue, and in transit (airports, flights, trains) to the venue.
Plan to bring N95 (or equivalent) respirator or KN95 (or equivalent like FFP2) masks to wear.
Neither the venue nor the Nuremberg Digital Festival has any explicit health and safety rules, however we are recommending masking to help mitigate risks, both for IndieWebCamp participants, and for those we may interact with outside the camp.
Covid Rules are what the venue (tollwerk) required as of 2023 and are subject to change before the event.
Heat Safety
Temperatures in Nuremberg are expected to range from 21C to 38C degrees for the weekend of the IndieWebCamp.
The venue does not have air conditioning (AC), but the office tends to stay cool because it is in a basement. 2-3 fans will be placed around the office for the duration of the event.
So far during the week, staff in the venue have found the temperatures comfortable despite the warm temperatures in the city.
We recommend that you dress in summer clothing for the duration of the camp, and bring a hat, suncream, and sunglasses.
If you have any concerns about the heat during the event, please speak to an event organiser.

Travel
Local travel by 🚃 rail, 🚈 underground, 🚗 car, 🚲 bicycle:
- Venue: tollwerkstatt, Klingenhofstraße 5, 90411 Nürnberg
🚝 We highly recommend traveling by public transit or bicycle
For travel within Nürnberg, the whole IndieWebCamp weekend can be covered by a single TagesTicket Solo. The day ticket is valid for either a day or a weekend. This will start to safe money as soon as you take your third trip on the underground.1
Directions
Walking (from city center?): Not advised. The venue is pretty far and once outside the city center, the roads are fairly nondescript.
Public transit stop: Nordostbahnhof / Nürnberg Nordost. (Timetables from local carrier VGN.)
- Recommended: 🚈 Underground line U2 (red). From central station take the U2 in the direction of Flughafen (airport).
- 🚌 several busses stop here, check the VGN Journey Planner for your best connection.
- 🚃 by train, only the very regional RB 21 visits this station.
From the airport:
- From Nuremberg airport (NUE), take the U2 subway line south to Hauptbahnhof (central train station) for city center hotels and restaurants.
