Building the Future of Music
Young Alumni Merit Award honoree Alex Valenti ’18 has never waited for opportunities — she’s built them.
An entrepreneurial leader in the music industry, Alex Valenti ’18 is co-founder of Key Partners Group, a management, ventures and intellectual property company focused on strategic partnerships across entertainment and emerging technology. Through KPG, she works with clients connected to top-tier talent including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Stevie Nicks. Collectively, the firm’s clients have generated more than 50 billion global streams and earned more than a dozen Grammy nominations.
“She’s consistently operated at the forefront of where music, technology and entrepreneurship meet,” USC Thornton School of Music Dean Jason King says.
Valenti’s instinct to innovate took shape early. At USC, she earned dual degrees from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and USC Thornton. While still a student, she worked alongside emerging artists and industry professionals, gaining hands-on experience that would define her career trajectory.
“When Alex was a student [at USC], the up-and-coming music scene was absolutely flourishing,” says Elle Dalconzo, one of KPG’s co-founders.
After graduating summa cum laude in 2018, Valenti moved quickly into the professional world, learning the business at Direct Management Group under the guidance of Katy Perry’s team. But rather than follow a traditional path, she struck out on her own.
In 2020, she co-founded music management company 3V Method, which focused on digital crossover artists, songwriters and producers. Built from the ground up and self-funded, the company grew rapidly to more than 30 clients. Within two years, its success led to a partnership with Live Nation, transforming 3VM into a joint venture and signaling Valenti’s arrival as a rising leader in the industry.
“Alex is an example of someone who has designed her own path, creating opportunities rather than waiting for them,” USC Annenberg Dean Willow Bay says.
In 2023, Valenti expanded that vision with the launch of Key Partners Group. The firm integrates artist management with venture strategy and intellectual property development in support of major releases from artists including Charli XCX, Zach Bryan and Alex Warren, as well as major labels like Atlantic Records and Interscope.
Recognized for her impact, Valenti was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022 and to Billboard’s Managers to Watch list the following year.
But even as her career accelerates, Valenti remains deeply connected to USC. She mentors students through the USC Alumni Association’s Entrepreneurs Network and serves on the Young Alumni Council, helping guide the next generation of Trojans.
“Alex shows that true leadership is defined not only by achievement, but by service,” Bay says.
For Valenti, the balance between innovation and impact continues to shape her work.
“She’s expanding what’s possible for artists and for the business of creativity itself,” King says.
