What We're Looking For
We're seeking an Android developer who can deliver high-quality, reliable mobile applications while having a strong understanding of camera and image recognition use cases. The ideal candidate is able to balance user experience, application performance, and technical stability when designing and implementing solutions. Familiarity with backend systems and machine learning or computer vision workflows is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and continuously optimize Android-side camera, video, and image recognition related products; participate in building and iterating on-device capabilities.
  • Handle Android ecosystem fragmentation and low-end device adaptation, optimizing performance, memory, and stability to ensure reliable operation across diverse devices.
  • Design and implement on-device capture workflows, ensuring stability and compatibility.
  • Build on-device environment detection and adaption capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Backend, Algorithm, and other teams to deliver the full on-device pipeline end-to-end.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, on-device engineering practices, and troubleshooting of critical issues.

Requirements:

  1. Strong Android engineering fundamentals, with deep expertise in Camera2 / CameraX image capture and processing, performance/memory optimization, and low-end device adaptation.
  2. Deep understanding of Android system-level mechanics, including Activity/Fragment lifecycle, Handler mechanism, JNI / NDK, multithreading concurrency, and memory management.
  3. On-device vision or algorithm engineering capability — able to transform raw algorithm/model output into stable, explainable business decisions.
  4. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently diagnose production issues, compatibility problems, performance bottlenecks, and complex interaction issues.
  5. Experience with camera capture, video streaming, image recognition, computer vision, or related projects is highly preferred.
  6. Familiarity with on-device vision technologies (object detection, feature point extraction, image quality assessment, model inference workflows, etc.) is a plus.
  7. Experience integrating or benchmarking against major image recognition services is highly preferred.
  8. Backend development experience is a plus (Java / Go / Python / Node.js), with understanding of API design, authentication, and server-side data flows.
  9. Good communication skills, ownership, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to resolution.

Nice to have:

  1. Experience in finance, payments, or related domains.
  2. Experience with on-device AI / model deployment / inference optimization.
  3. Experience building camera / video / image recognition on-device capabilities.
